Unquenchable Worshipper

January 29, 2010

I’m reading a book at the minute called “The Unquenchable Worshipper” written by Matt Redman. And there is a bit in it that really stood out to me it’s from Psalm 30:5 and says: “weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” So often God’s hand of discipline in our lives is followed quickly by his hand of blessing and tenderness. So if you’re going through a hard time… just know and reassure yourself that you’ll be sweet! Everything happens for a reason and these trials will only make us stronger.

A lot of times taking the right advice can be really hard. For example. If someone tells you something you don’t want to hear and that you think isn’t right we can tend to have an attitude of completely shunning it out and saying things like “who do they think they are telling me that nonsense” but at the end of the day the person giving advice is only trying to help out and even if we don’t want to hear the advice we sometimes have to just sit back and really think about what they have said and try to figure out what they meant and see if you can work out if you understand. And after this it gives a better perspective on what has been said and can turn out to really help. Even if it means letting go of something you don’t want to… its all for the best. Just put your trust in god and all your problems will be in his hands.
James 1:19My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,

Merry Christmas

December 17, 2009

Christmas is really close and everyone is really exited in the “Christmas Spirit” and going out and spending loads of money on friends and family and don’t get me wrong. I LOVE Christmas so much.
It’s the time of year when we can spend good quality time with family and friends and giving them gratification of how we feel for them. But in midst of all this Christmas hustle-bustle how many of us really sit back, relax and reflect the real meaning of Christmas….not too many hands raised there eh?

Well I would encourage all to try and keep it in your minds the meaning of Christmas. Which is the birth of a might powerful god … a baby? Yea that’s right. Our saviour who died on the cross for all our sins was nothing more than a wee cute baby born in a manger. What a wonderful thing that was. Merry Christmas to you all ! 

Short n Sweet

November 27, 2009

Hi there! Long time no see! Short and sweet! Well it’s really hard sometimes to stay away from temptation and sometimes always seems to be a problem. But what can we do to get tempting things out of our minds. One thing is just pray that whatever it is tempting you that it goes away and will go forever. Another thing would be to maybe just sit back and look to the cross and remember what Jesus did for us all. LOVE Y’ALL  xo  COlM

as i lay dying

November 3, 2009

For so long I have felt alone
Content to live with unrest
Longing faded into countless nights
That buried my weary heart
But You brought an end
To this dead hour
And meaning to a calloused life

Held in Your arms
But too far from my heart

These words are taken from a Christian band called “As I Lay Dying” the song is called “the darkest nights” and the lyrics in this song talk about how the singer (Tim Lambesis ) is going through a tough time and he feels alone. But he goes on to say that Jesus brought an end to this confusion.

The second part of the song is him coming to a realization that god had him in his arms the whole time and that it’s up to us to realize this ourselves. So what im getting at is if your going through a tough time weather its: family, school, friends whatever it may be just stay close to Jesus and he will put you in the right path !

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

1543828993_c1c1667384This verse basically speaks for itself. It’s really just encouraging us young ones to not be discouraged by being young and thinking that we can’t do things that adults might be able to. But… what’s stopping us? Nothing. It’s just about getting out there and letting people know you’re a Christian. A saying I’ve heard before which I really like goes like this. “Witness to everybody you meet, and if it’s absolutely necessary….. Use words.

the_friday_night_project_uk-showThis week I will base my blog around not being ashamed of loving god. For example if you were planning to go to a church event, sometimes when your friends ask you where your going you might bend the truth a little and tell them something like. “Oh, I’m just staying in tonight”. I encourage anyone who might have this problem to have no hesitation to tell them exactly where you’re heading and even invite them along. After all isn’t getting your friends saved what you want? We should be so enthusiastic about knowing god… you know sometimes how people brag on about meeting someone famous people e.g. me meeting Glen Hansard ! ahhhhhhh <3. Well we should be the same about Christ in how we tell others about his wonder and glory. After all he is the most famous person ever and I know him personally!!! Isn’t that amazing!

Hi there!   I’m gonna keep it short and sweet this week

Psalm 126:5 (NIV) says that.

“Those who sow in TEARS will reap with songs of JOY”

fullThis verse has really encouraged me lately as if you know me well… I’m kind of sensitive when it comes to crying, for example. Watching the film “once” P.S IT’S THE BEST. Well anyway, there is nothing wrong with crying now and then. It’s a great way to show emotions and get burdens off your chest! So if you have a dream in life your friends and all can help but to see that dream to the end, you will probably need to shed a wee tear here and there. The great news is that God promises that when we water with our tears, there will be an AWSOME HARVEST. It’s good to know what part of your dream you’re at…. Is it time to weep or reap? Don’t think that crying is a way to turn angry, sad and complain about life…. It’s an expression to give thanks and show your passion about the stuff god has placed in our hearts and be thankful for his promises.
